Colin is the founder and Creative Director with TOTEM a creative agency that designs, builds and strengthen brands. TOTEM’s work shapes emotional connections between clients and their audience – ensuring empathy, engagement and ulitmately growth.
Colin has a passion for brands, brand strategy and the difference great ideas and great designs can make. His mantra, DaVinci’s renaissance adage “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Prior to founding TOTEM, Colin spent 12 years working with leading Irish agencies in Dublin, starting out at The Graphiconies, a colourful Italian / Irish design studio. During his time in Dublin he worked with an eclectic range of high profile clients such as American Express, Amnesty International, CIE Tours, Dublin Theatre Festival, HomeBond, ntl:, Oxfam, Rough Magic, Save the Children, Superquinn and The Arts Council.
And that enviable client list is something that has continued to grow since establishing TOTEM in 2002. Since then TOTEM has utilized creative thinking to develop inspiring strategies for a diverse range of clients – from non-profits such as CMRF Crumlin, Cork Simon, Dogs Trust and Trócaire, to nationally renowned businesses like Bord Iascaigh Mhara, Boston Scientific, Cork Chamber, Flahavan’s and Pfizer. As well as working with Fáilte Ireland across all three of their pillar brands – Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s Ancient East and Dublin.
Over the years the team at TOTEM have won a number of national and international accolades for its work. A gold award from Graphis, The International Journal of Visual Communication, and the overall Grand Prix prize at the Irish Design Effectiveness Awards are just two to mention.
Colin’s 28 year experience working with large national and international clients has enabled him to bring industry leading design expertise to a smaller local region he is passionate about developing and growing.
